The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare BOOK REVIEW

Hi guys this i´sn´t my normal book review but i read this books one after the other  so im going to make small reviews for each book and a all around review for 4 books on this series.

SUMMARY

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . . Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.
My Review

I really need to say that I struggled my way through this book, it was a really slow and at times boring read for me, I really liked some aspects of it though and the general idea of the story was intriguing so I kept reading; by the end of the book I wasn´t in love with it but curious as to where Cassandra Clare would go with this.
So without delay I grabed my copy of  the Second book on this series and started reading...

Summary
Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father.

To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings — and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?

In this breathtaking sequel to City of Bones, Cassandra Clare lures her readers back into the dark grip of New York City's Downworld, where love is never safe and power becomes the deadliest temptation

My Review
when I started reading this book i wasn´t expecting much out of it, but I was pleasantly surprised.
I really enjoyed City of Ashes and i was really surprised by the way events where unfolding.
the way Clary grows on this book is magnificent and Jace it´s a hardheaded sweetheart that got my attenction really quick, also the secondary characters are amazing and their stories very interesting.
So once i finished this i didn´t have a doubt about reading the next one and guess what... I did
Summary

To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters -- never mind that enter-ing the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.
As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadow-hunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadow-hunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City --                                                        whatever the cost?
Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the final installment of the New York Times bestselling trilogy The Mortal Instruments.

My Review

I really liked this book, it had me glued after hours trying to figure out wich rute the author would take, loved the twistand turns the plot was amazing and Clary as a character grows exponentially as do a lot of the side characters; Jace is kind of boring on this one and i kept expecting for him to do something amazing with his abilities. cant say much more cause i would be spoilerish and i hate that, but come on clary can do amazing things and he... NOT!!!!

Summary

The Mortal War is over, and Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She's training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And—most important of all—Clary can finally call Jace her boyfriend.

But nothing comes without a price.

Someone is murdering the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second bloody war. Clary’s best friend, Simon, can’t help her. His mother just found out he’s a vampire and now he’s homeless. Everywhere he turns, someone wants him on their side—along with the power of the curse wrecking his life. And they’re willing to do anything to get what they want. At the same time he’s dating two beautiful, dangerous girls—neither of whom knows about the other.

When Jace begins to pull away from Clary without explaining why, she is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: She herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.

Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. The stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

My Review

I really liked that this book was centerd on Simon as opposed of Clary and Jace, we learn a lot about him and other side characters on this book, and simon starts to get comfy in his own skin. Clary and Jace as characters really sucked in this one but the ending was so shocking that it made the book work out and certanly is driving me to buy the next one.

Overall Review

I like this series, cant say that is one of my favorites there´s somothing about it that is captivating I like the plot a lot and the twist and turns that this series have are all well planned and succesfully played.

Bad thing about it, even though I love the writting style sometimes it just doesn´t work for me and out of the 4 books I have read of this series I can honestly say that i loved two of them; City of Bones and City of Fallen Angels where lacking something for me (dont know what).

Im pleased that I puhsed my self forward and read City of Ashes cause that book was AMAZING and really it was what made me keep reading.

Will I buy the next one? Of course i Will after the ending of City of Fallen Angelsi would go crazy not knowing what happens next =D

I Give this series 3 out of 5 stars it´s really a good read but some of the books didn´t do the trick for me
