Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout BOOK REVIEW

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…
The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.
But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

My Review

When you find an author that has the ability to suck you into her story so deeply, that you can feel yourself getting emotionally involved with the characters, that’s when you need to accept that you just found your favorite author from all times.

When you find a story that no matter how many times you read it, it drags you in like it was the first time and you end up crying when the characters cry and their loss becomes yours, every breath and every word spoken seems to be directed at you in some deep emotional level, that’s when you know that you found a book that no matter how old you get, no matter how many times you read it, it will always be like the first time and it will become your favorite book ever.

What happens when you find these two things in the same place? What happens when you find an author that has not one book but a series that has the capability of turning you into a never ending drooling mess?

If you guys don’t understand what I’m talking about, that´s because you haven’t read the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

It´s been a couple of days since I re read Onyx, the second installment on an amazing series that has me drooling over it since I read the prequel and I swear that I still can´t form a coherent thought about it, other than OMG, that was the most amazing thing I ever read; but I don’t think writing that same sentence over and over qualifies as a review LOL!!!!

So here I am 4 days later trying to find a way to explain the magnificence of Jennifer L. Armentrout Work cause Onyx quite frankly filled all my expectations and then some.

Daemon and Katy´s relationship blossoms exponentially through the whole book, the easy sexy banter that I loved in Obsidian is still there but at the same time is laced with the intensity of the feelings they have for each other.

The plot in one word is engaging, enthralling and just simply OMG amazing!!!!!!!

I adore Katy, she’s got attitude and knows how to use it; she won’t settle for anything less than what she deserves and staying away from Daemon although difficult is what she´ll do.

Daemon is the same Daemon I learned to love on Obsidian and even though he does change his attitude around Katy he still is the same smoking hot, sexy, bad boy, alien next door that I adore. If I drooled over him on Obsidian, I died and went to heaven when he made his first appearance in Onyx. He´s character gets deeper and well, plain hotter LOL!!!

Now, Now; don’t go now believing that everything was wine and roses here NO,NO,NO; this book turned me into a crying mess, I even got hiccups and I had this weight in my heart that wouldn´t leave no matter what I did; My hearth literally hurt and that´s when I noticed that Jennifer L. Armentrout managed to make me emotional invested with her characters.

This book deserves all the stars I can give, that´s 5+ by the way, but at times like this I wish I was able to give it a hundred.

I´m almost rocking on my chair begging for Opal… well I’m begging just no rocking …YET!!!!...

and in case this didn´t sway you enough to go buy it well, here you go

  1. I've never heard of a book getting such a good review. 5+ is on heck of a recommendation. :-)
