Richelle Mead´s Vampire Academy
On June 29th 2010 it was announced that Preger Entertainment had acquired the film rights to Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series. Both Preger and Murphy seem very dedicated to the movie and acknowledge the great anticipation of the fanbase.
“The joy of these books is that in the wake of ‘Twilight’ they offer a chance to create a movie franchise that guys will want to see as well as girls,” he said. “Michael and I plan on positioning the films as something both sexes will enjoy together, expanding the genre of sexy young vampires to a whole new audience. We are beginning discussions with studios immediately.”
Preger also stated that “It was the fan base that made all this happen in my opinion. That’s why we want to stay in touch with that force. Not just on opening weekend, but through the whole process of making this movie. This is their movie after all.”
