The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare BOOK REVIEW

Hi guys this i´sn´t my normal book review but i read this books one after the other  so im going to make small reviews for each book and a all around review for 4 books on this series.

SUMMARY

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . . Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.
My Review

I really need to say that I struggled my way through this book, it was a really slow and at times boring read for me, I really liked some aspects of it though and the general idea of the story was intriguing so I kept reading; by the end of the book I wasn´t in love with it but curious as to where Cassandra Clare would go with this.
So without delay I grabed my copy of  the Second book on this series and started reading...

Summary
Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father.

To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings — and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?

In this breathtaking sequel to City of Bones, Cassandra Clare lures her readers back into the dark grip of New York City's Downworld, where love is never safe and power becomes the deadliest temptation

My Review
when I started reading this book i wasn´t expecting much out of it, but I was pleasantly surprised.
I really enjoyed City of Ashes and i was really surprised by the way events where unfolding.
the way Clary grows on this book is magnificent and Jace it´s a hardheaded sweetheart that got my attenction really quick, also the secondary characters are amazing and their stories very interesting.
So once i finished this i didn´t have a doubt about reading the next one and guess what... I did
Summary

To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters -- never mind that enter-ing the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.
As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadow-hunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadow-hunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City --                                                        whatever the cost?
Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the final installment of the New York Times bestselling trilogy The Mortal Instruments.

My Review

I really liked this book, it had me glued after hours trying to figure out wich rute the author would take, loved the twistand turns the plot was amazing and Clary as a character grows exponentially as do a lot of the side characters; Jace is kind of boring on this one and i kept expecting for him to do something amazing with his abilities. cant say much more cause i would be spoilerish and i hate that, but come on clary can do amazing things and he... NOT!!!!

Summary

The Mortal War is over, and Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She's training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And—most important of all—Clary can finally call Jace her boyfriend.

But nothing comes without a price.

Someone is murdering the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second bloody war. Clary’s best friend, Simon, can’t help her. His mother just found out he’s a vampire and now he’s homeless. Everywhere he turns, someone wants him on their side—along with the power of the curse wrecking his life. And they’re willing to do anything to get what they want. At the same time he’s dating two beautiful, dangerous girls—neither of whom knows about the other.

When Jace begins to pull away from Clary without explaining why, she is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: She herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.

Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. The stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

My Review

I really liked that this book was centerd on Simon as opposed of Clary and Jace, we learn a lot about him and other side characters on this book, and simon starts to get comfy in his own skin. Clary and Jace as characters really sucked in this one but the ending was so shocking that it made the book work out and certanly is driving me to buy the next one.

Overall Review

I like this series, cant say that is one of my favorites there´s somothing about it that is captivating I like the plot a lot and the twist and turns that this series have are all well planned and succesfully played.

Bad thing about it, even though I love the writting style sometimes it just doesn´t work for me and out of the 4 books I have read of this series I can honestly say that i loved two of them; City of Bones and City of Fallen Angels where lacking something for me (dont know what).

Im pleased that I puhsed my self forward and read City of Ashes cause that book was AMAZING and really it was what made me keep reading.

Will I buy the next one? Of course i Will after the ending of City of Fallen Angelsi would go crazy not knowing what happens next =D

I Give this series 3 out of 5 stars it´s really a good read but some of the books didn´t do the trick for me

Still On My Mind #1

Still on My Mind is a Weekly Meme hosted by Haley at

So how this meme works?

Every Thursday you will feature a book that you read months or even YEARS ago that was so good (or so scary/unique/funny..etc) that it is 'Still on my (your) Mind!'

This week´s Feature is

Goodreads Summary St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Why is this Book still on my Mind?

It´s been years since I read Vampire Academy and I think of it constantly, i wasn´t much of a reader back then but VA opened my eyes as to what I was missing. I loved  Rose attitude and snark, the idea of not being the helpless damisel in distress and actually been able to kick ass was exactly what I was looking for; Dimitri *sights* my oh my hehehe need i explain more? he was just perfect. His hot cold attitude had me drooling for him since the begining cause I knew deep down he was truly head over heels for her and the action good too.
I´ve read this book more times than i can count, would i read it again... Heck Yeah i´m always trying to get my Dimitri Fix hehehehe.
I´ve never actually reviewed this book, I read it way before I even thought about having my own blog, but it was def. worth to be my very first "Still On My Mind" feature.

Shayne Leighton´s AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Hi guys, whatssup!!!!!!

Today im not giong to post a book review, instead im going to be posting an Author interview. Shayne Leighton is an amazing woman; at a very young age she´s a writer/actress/Singer/Model and Wife.

I found this Quote and when I read it it Totally remaind me Of Shayne, she is a woman that Challenges, a woman that knows what she wants in life and goes for it, she is an example to women all around; That with Passion and Motivation we can achive anything we set our minds into.

Woman must not accept; she must challenge. She must not be awed by that which has been built up around her; she must reverence that woman in her which struggles for expression.
~ Margaret Sanger ~

First and foremost I have to say Thank you Shayne for taking the time for this interview I’m quite impressed, you have done so many things in so little time: Actress, Singer, Model, Author and I heard somewhere that you are married too.

Thanks so much for having me! I’m so happy to be here! (Virtually, that is!)

How do you balance all your endeavors?

I try my best to compartmentalize and organize my time – but it never turns out as well as I’d like it to. My priorities are always a little bit mixed up. For instance, I have a deadline to uphold, but I would much rather do this interview! I try and set aside days of the week for specific tasks. For instance, on Mondays I focus on my works in progress with writing, on Tuesdays I focus on acting auditions and gigs and so on and so forth. Too bad I can never stick to the plan!

A little bird told me that your book The Vampire’s Daughter is being made a movie how did that happened? And can you tell us a little about how the production is going?

Yes! We have been in development for the film adaptation for a little under a year, now! We have some fantastic people attached to our cast list such as Michael Welch from the Twilight Saga, Cassie Scerbo and Johnny Pacar from Make It or Break It and more! We have a lot happening on the movie front, but it’s hard for me to release any information right now! I invite people to continue checking the official OLAD website and blog for continued updates and announcements!

When I read your book, I couldn´t help but feel Anne Rice´s Influence, in your writing style, what do you think of her Vampire Chronicles?

I love that the more reviewers the book is getting, the more its being compared to the style of Anne Rice. I began my romance with Vampires when I saw the movie, Interview with the Vampire for the first time! That was my Twilight! I loved it – and ever since, I’ve also been writing about Vampires. I am a huge fan of Ms. Rice, and am totally humbled that anyone would ever be reminded of her fiction by reading mine!

Some authors like to have note pads around so they can write anywhere they are, others lock themselves in an office to write, What was it like to write The Vampire´s Daughter, do you have a writing process?

Unlike a lot of other authors I know, I do not like to outline my story before I write it. I pretty much just begin with my first blank page and let the story take me where it wants to go. I do lock myself away in my “writer’s cave” as I like to call it – being anywhere else totally distracts me. I need to be surrounded by quiet in order to focus.

Lastly I would like to Know, when are we going to see more of this story, is book 2 done, can you share a sneak peek, quote anything?… sorry about that, I got a little carried away; anything else you want to share with us?

Haha! I am very excited to announce that book 2: The Vampire’s Reflection is nearly done! Just putting a few finishing touches on it! I personally can’t wait to release this one. We have a contest happening on our facebook page right now. If we can get the official OLAD page to reach 4,000 fans, I will release the first chapter!!!

Thank you so much for your time Shayne I would like to have a lighting round to close the interview so your fans can get to know a little more about you.

My Review

You guys probably have seen other posts on my blog about Tish Thawer a review, a tour, interview and even giveaways of her books have been and will be posted here from time to time. Why because I love her books that´s way LOL!!!
This time I’m honored to host a stop on her new tour for Blood of a Red Rose the second installment on the Rose Trilogy.
This book is simply amazing when I finished reading Scent of a white Rose (Book 1) I was excited and dying to get my hands on this baby right here, cause I was shocked at the way things ended and I needed to read some more.
So obviously when Tish asked me if I wanted to be on the tour I said “OMG… stutter, stutter… OMG, HECK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
So here I am after reading this book trying to find a way to convince Tish to give me a super advanced review copy of the next book cause OMG this was amazing.
I don’t think that I can even form a coherent thought about it. I love Christian he´s hot in a cute; I´m so in love with Rose and would do anything for her, can’t live without her kinda way.
Rose has changed some due to well life and is getting moody she loves Christian but fear and doubt have a full on hold on her that might Tip the balance to the wrong side. (See no coherency)
Anyway I loved this book, the fact that the pov changed, helped me get into the story and into the mind of the characters (this is a first for me I usually don’t like pov changes) I was a goner after reading maybe 20 pages.
This book has a great rhythm it´s full of angst and had me glued from the start.
Tish Thawer found a way to keep me enthralled, I was so into the book that I didn´t even noticed I was about to finish it until I hit next page on my kindle and found… nothing!!!! I almost hyperventilate.
I can wait to read more of this amazing trilogy and find out, what will happen to Rose and Christian? What will happen with her dad? Is love stronger than everything else? Will evil win? Will they survive?
Anyway please make sure to visit all the stops on this amazing tour here is the link for the next one
Visit Jennifer for the next stop and while you are there be sure to show some love.

Sweet Blood Of Mine Blog Tour

200 x 200 Blog tour button

Hi guys for my stop in this Amazing Tour im ging to be hosting a Character interview.

Stacey is not your every day character she´s got the groove like you wouldn´t belive.
here is her epic interview.

The Stacey (last name unknown) Interview

[This is Miley Morgan, chief editor and lead reporter for the Edenfield High Illuminator newspaper.  I've been tracking the mysterious blonde woman known only as Stacey, but she's proven every bit as elusive as Elyssa Borathen.  According to Justin, this cute and very perky blonde is also extremely dangerous.  Judging from her ample curves and well-practiced smile, I'm sure her danger is limited only to hyper-hormonal teenage boys.]

[Because Stacey has been so hard to track, I used my feminine wiles to convince Philmore Dinkleweed, a redneck who is also very good at tracking animals, to help me follow the trail of this nefarious woman.  We have finally traced her back to what appears to be an abandoned warehouse structure in Scottdale.  We are now sneaking toward the buildings.  The raucous sound of wild animals fills the air, and I occasionally hear the growl of what sounds like a beast of some sort.]

Stacey:  [Apparently having sneaked up behind us.] You are quite the persistent little beggar aren't you?

Philmore:  [Screams and runs away.]

Me:  [I manage to wet my pants only a little bit and recover like a pro reporter.]  So, you've come to face the Truthinator.  Very smart of you Miss—

Stacey:  [Smiles (but her cute little dimples aren't fooling me).]  You are very much out of your depth, little Truthinator.  [She laughs while circling me, running a finger across my back.]  Perhaps you should run home to mummy.

Me:  You're obviously British.  Do you have a green card?  Or are you an illegal vagrant living out here in this junk pile?

Stacey:  I'm afraid my proper documentation expired long ago.

Me:  A decade ago?

Stacey:  [Offers me a feral grin (which looks very convincing I must admit).]  Closer to a hundred, little lamb.

Me:  [I laugh.]  Fine, I can see this line of questioning is going nowhere.  Why are you following Justin?

Stacey:  Isn't he just too cute?  Such a young, tender thing.  But he's quite lost in this new world he's stumbled into.  He needs an experienced guide to lend him a firm hand and a gentle touch.  [Licks her lips.]

Me:  New world?  Are you talking about this Overworld thing I heard someone mention?

Stacey:  [Quirks an eyebrow.]  Perhaps you're not so foolish as I thought.  I hope you realize how dangerous such information can be, especially in the hands of a nom.

Me:  A nom?

Stacey:  [Purrs.]  Oh yes.  We call you normals 'noms' for short.  Though some of our kind call you nom-noms.

Me:  Like the Cookie Monster when he eats?

Stacey:  [Laughs.]  You are a clever girl.  Not exactly pretty, but clever.  Perhaps you should end this quest to expose Justin.  I assure you, I should enjoy being the one to expose him first.

Me:  I get the feeling you mean that in a carnal sense.

Stacey:  [Light reflects off her amber eyes like that of a wild animal.]  What other sense is there, my sweet?

Me:  You're really creepy, lady.  [I can't help but shudder and literally feel like a piece of meat as she looks me over.]

Stacey:  I am, of course, quite concerned about this Elyssa girl who seems to be abnormally interested in him.

Me:  What are you?

Stacey:  [Walks very close to me and traces a sharp fingernail across my cheek.]  That, my precious, is something you do not want to find out.

[At this moment, I notice two huge shadows slinking from the dark tree line around the complex and realize they are massive animals of some kind.  I'm a dedicated reporter, but at this point, I deem it wisest to run screaming after Philmore and hope to God he hasn't already taken off in the car.]
