WOLF SPELL

With a death starts a new beginning...

Eighteen-year-old Esmerelda thinks she’s just a normal girl, but all of that changes the day of her mom’s funeral, when a warlock, intent on using her special powers, kidnaps her. Powers she didn’t know existed.

Thrown in the middle of a magical battle, Es struggles to learn her magic while fleeing both vampires and warlocks, at the same time, hunting for the witches that can help defeat her adversary. The only problem is that they are dead. Thankfully, she has the help of Jarak—her Guardian—who quickly captures her heart, but she wonders if she can win his?

Just when she thinks Jarak is the one for her, Ian appears with daggers drawn to save Es from a vampire attack. Ian is cocky and rude, but there is something magnetic about him—something that attracts her to him. With her heart torn between two men, she faces the foes that are out for her blood. Can Es do the unthinkable and awaken them from their graves before time runs out?

Now let me introduce you to the woman behind this book. Lets Welcome
M.R. Polish

How would you describe Wolf Spell?
Wolf Spell is a great story of discovery about life, love, magic and guardians. I really wanted to write something different, yet keep with things that readers knew, my take on wolves with their humans changed the werewolf lore that we are accustomed to reading. Along with witches and crossbreeds who are vampires linked with magic. This story is about Esmerelda and her life as a young woman and her journey as she learns about her past and her future, life and death, magic and wolves.
Which character you had most fun writing?
I think I would have to say Ian, because his whole demeanor was different and he made me smile with his thoughts. I loved his playful banter and persistence.
What was your main source of inspiration for the story?
I have always loved stories with magic, so that started it, but I would have to say that through the whole thing, music inspired me the most while writing.
What should readers expect from Wolf Spell?
Action and fun. I tried to make sure there were no dull or boring moments and the characters agreed by pushing me just as hard I pushed them. I also have some moments that I thought were comical and laughed, I hope my readers do too!
What was the book that most influenced your life — and why?
Wow, that’s tough. I have always been enthralled with books. I’m not sure it was the books as much as the teachers. My fourth grade teacher read to us daily, the stories where so amazing I remember sinking in my chair and could picture every scene as if I was there. My fifth grade teacher, who was my favorite, Mrs. Presley, encouraged my writing even then. It was in her class that I won my first story entry for the newspaper. She told me I could do it and I believed her. So a shout out to her… I did it!
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
*Yes, I am laughing* I thought about it, a lot, the day I published it, but really no. I love my characters, their story, all of it. It was fun, and yet challenging at the same time to write for a younger group.  Each book will only grow as I grow.
What are you reading right now?
Right now I am reading Shifting Pride by Laura Diamond
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Don’t give up. Some things are hard, but if you ever found out you’re a witch, have fun with it J So maybe not the message in the book, but honestly, never give up.
How has your environment/upbringing colored your writing?
I can say that my environment right now has helped me dig in deeper to my imagination. I think it has something to do with being a mom to four kids. I want them to enjoy their childhood and use their imagination, in the process, mine has broadened.
When did you first know you wanted to be a writer?
A LONG time ago. I can say that I have been writing for many years. As I said earlier, my first writing contest that I ever submitted to and won, was in the 5th grade. I knew then that my imagination could be placed on paper.

*** Here end the serious part of the interview, ... me? serious?... Really??***

Silly Me
Why are things sent by car called shipments, and things sent by ships called cargo?
To confuse us of course!
Why is it good to be a Daddy's girl, but bad to be a Momma's boy?
Honestly? I think society has it to where men are afraid to show their emotional side without being criticized for it. So if they’re attached to their mom they show a softer side. And yet, women are revered for being strong and in control, something they can get from their mom but again, society will claim it as a father’s character. So if they’re a daddy’s girl, they are strong willed, and stubborn, yet can still be women.
Is it true cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?
I’m not sure, I asked one once upon a time, but all they could do was laugh… Maybe if the clown would stop yelling “Stop, that’s my funny bone!” while they are eating him, they could stop laughing enough to give me a straight answer J
** Thank you so much for being part of Book Addict Today, I cant wait to get my hands on Wolf Spell**

Author Bio:

If I am not producing magic potions, traveling to far off lands and falling in love with mythical creatures, then I am awake - tripping over toys, chasing my kids and conjuring ways to unknowingly booby trap our house for my husband. (Yes its unknowingly, I swear I never placed the tiny plastic army man in his path for him to find in the dark of midnight!) I love my husband and my four wonderful children (all of whom help with the booby traps!) We are Nevadians and are happy, although I envy and miss the beautiful mountains of Idaho. I love writing Young Adult and Adult Fantasy and Paranormal with Romance, although you never know what could show up in my books!
