Synopsis

"Love in my world usually ended up with someone hearing 'I smite thee!' as she was cursed to be some lame flower for the rest of her life."

For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals—pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she'd been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she's pretty much accepted that she's a freak by mortal standards… and that she'll never be prepared for that duty.

According to her mother, that’s a good thing.

But as every descendant of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami and try to find her way back to the very place her mother had warned her she should never return—the Covenant. Every step that brings her closer to safety is one more step toward death… because she's being hunted by the very creatures she'd once trained to kill.

The daimons have found her.

My Review

This is a very short novella where we get to see what happened to Alex mother and how did she ended up on the covenant again.

is action packed and does the work like a charm, Daimon is so intriguing that it makes you go grab Half Blood so you can find out what everything was about.

Another great book from a great writer can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of this series

Half Blood and Pure Synopsis

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck

Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her.

When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon... and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude... or killing her.

When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

My Review

O k so, I’ve been thinking really really hard about the way to go with this review, It´s not that I don’t like it, quite the contrary; the book has a great flow and it´s peaks and valleys are magnificent.
I loved the characters and the whole Greek mythology going on.
So, what´s the problem then? Well I’m a huge fan of both J.L. Armentrout and Richelle Mead and Vampire Academy is one of my favorite series ever.
Why do I say this? Cause there are a lot of similarities between this books here is a short list of some of them.
1.       The girl gets captured and brought back to “school” by a sexy older guy that has her drooling from day one
2.       The sexy older guy ends up training her to make her catch up with the rest of her class
3.       There´s a lust charm type of scene.
4.       They can’t be together for several reasons, so he backs off
5.       Enters an Adrian type of character who falls for her bad even though he is a ladies’ man
6.       There´s a breach on campus security and her best friend gets killed in front of her
7.       The sexy older guy tells her he doesn’t/can´t love her even though we know he does and she starts developing feelings towards the ladies man.
8.       Etc.,Etc.,Etc…
That been said and I’m trying to be really honest here, if I had read this books before VA I think I would have liked this one more, J.L.A. sure knows how to tell a story.
The only difference for me is that on this series I really do want Seth/Adrian to get the girl at the end, and some super interesting plot changes LOL!!!!
I also want to say that even though I did find distracting the fact that the series are practically identical I read Daimon, Half Blood and Pure one after the other, that was how sucked up I was on this series; so this review is for both Half blood and Pure, also as the story progresses it developes into something incredible and new.
I fully intend to keep reading this series, my problem is I just don’t know how to rate it lol!!!!
So let’s say 3.99 starts just because I really like the way she writes and even though I knew most of what was going to happened I still couldn’t get my eyes of these books.
but cause i totally rock i´ll round it up to 4 starts :D

Genre: Paranormal Romance YA

About the Author:

Christie Rich lives in a small town with her husband, two kids, spastic dog, and two lazy cats. She loves delving into fantasy. Whether it is reading a book, watching a great movie, or recently, writing something she absolutely loves.

She has been focusing on the paranormal, and her first published novel, Five, is a paranormal romance. It is the first book in the Elemental Enmity Trilogy and is about a girl that discovers her role in an age old battle for world dominace between the fae and humans.

Christie is currently working diligently on the third book in the series.

Synopsis

Rayla Tate’s dreams for the future shattered when she discovered she was an Elemental capable of manipulating matter. Thrust, once again, into the magical fae realm of Faeresia, she has an important choice to make. But now that she has Heath to contend with, deciding between Zach and Luke is the least of her concerns. Tall, dark and lethal to her will, her attraction to Heath eclipses all she has experienced with any other lord, but he is using compulsion to wear her down. If only she could trust her feelings?

In a desperate attempt to escape Heath, she accepts the help of a little troll and finally gets what she wants; however, her relief is short lived. Things go terribly wrong when a dark force closes in on her, threatening to steal her burgeoning power before she even has a chance to test her abilities. Now, with Rayla as their captive, the Order will stop at nothing to create a male Elemental, and willing or not, Rayla is the key.

Caught up in the age-old battle for dominance between human and fae, only one question matters to her now—will she be able to save those she loves most without losing herself in the process? Or will she be forever haunted by the choices she alone can make?

My Review

When I read Five the first installment on this series I was trapped by Rayla´s story and the new world she was discovering.
The way she fought to have control over her life despite the nature of her problems grabbed me and never let go of me.
Dark matter was so much better, Christie Rich managed to make an already great story into something unbelievable..
For starters Zach and Luke are not around much, but they are constantly influencing Rayla´s decisions or lack of them.
Heath I adored and I have to say that I kinda hope that she pick´s him at the end.
The plot was amazing, the twist and turns had me glued to the book until the last page. The fact that Rayla got to grow as the story progressed but still refused to accept the fact that she doesn’t need anyone to fight her battles but herself had me guessing about her character but cheering for her at the same time.
I was so immerse on the story that I swear, I cringed and cried along with her; and what was the deal with Gibbit anyway? And is there something else about the ring he gave to Rayla? Did Fexlie save Zach?
I’m dying to read the third book so I can have some of this questions answered I have to say I was extremely shocked by the ending, I didn’t even see it coming, even thought my version had missing pages lol!!!!

My Review

I cant believe that this series is over!!!!

I loved it so much that is hard to think that I wont get to read more about the characters that blew my mind, I became quite attached to them in such a short time, that I want to keep reading and reading about them.

Talon and Willow´s story is so cute and I had a chuckle or two due to Willows inocence and mischives.

Talon is a millenia old Virgin Schollar (talk about self control lol) that seeks to know everything that is to know about everything.

Willow is a cute swap gas/wisp/conciense/woman thats been a constant through the series a very helpfull and endering side kick to all our heroes. I remember that on my first review I said that I wished Willow had a happy ending, guess what? she got it!!!!!!

loved this book, the plot is amazing and i was shocked quite a few times by the twists and turns of it.

Kate Douglad did it again, with the last installment of this amazing series; she blew my mind, she gave me what i was hoping for and still left me wishing for more.

My Review

Who would have thought that a geeky Veterinarian would be as apelling and interesting as Dawson.

Once again im in love with the characters of this series, not only did i find another BBF, but a story about redemption and standing up for what is right and protecting that what you value the most.

I love the plot of this series and the fact that old characters keep coming back, i was able to see how couples that i adored on previous books where doing, how the dinamics changed once new characters appeared, but most of all i was able to fall in love with every single couple once again.

this book is Sizzling, i got lost on Dawson´s and Selyn´s love story and there are a couple of hot scenes in a bathing pool that i re read quite a few times just for the pleasure of it, what can i say, im considering on buying a hot tube, it looks promising hahahahaha.

Im looking forward to read the next book, cant wait to read more about all of them, i know i just found another guilty pleasure,i have the feeling i´ll be re-reading this series for a long long time.
