Silvers Alpha by Samantha Bates (Blurb and Cover)

Here is the Blurb from Sam Bates first book of the Silver Series

Living in New York had always been interesting, but living in New York City with vampires, shape shifters and other species was really interesting. As these other species 'came out' into society there were unsurprisingly a number of problems which the Paranormal Task force (PTF) were expected to deal with, as a human and part of the PTF Lucky enjoyed the variety of her job except for the problem of her own personal stalker. Her partner, a vampire named Darius lives with the wolves of Silver Pack for some bizarre reason. What happens when the Alpha meets Lucky and decides she is 'the one' for him? The already divorced Lucky has no intention of falling for any one or other, yet can she ignore the strong, sexy and gorgeous Silver Alpha.

The Wolf with the Silver Smile by Samantha Bates

A few days back I was contacted by Samantha Bates who very kindly asked me if I could read and review the Second book in her Silver Series. So here it goes.
The book in one word was refreshing, we follow the Story of Morgan a young woman who had a very difficult life and in running away from said life stumbles into The Silver Pack.
Nick is the brother of the pack Alpha; he’s fun, outgoing and a total womanizer, until he meet´s Morgan, and he has to learn how to be a friend for the woman that has him bedazzled.
What I liked the most about this story was that you actually see the romance develop, it´s not the classic “we met and wham, bam thank you mam, now we´re in love “kind of novel. Their relationship grows through the book at a very comfortable pace.
I was also very intrigued by Morgan who at first was a very self-conscious and frightful woman but grows to be very independent and strong on her own; her struggle to get a rein on her emotions and fears and the way she learns to trust herself was endearing, and a lesson many of us should learn.
The story moves at a very fast rhythm, and has some glitches here and there, but still it was  an easy read, for a second book it was actually quite alright, the story behind the pack and others among them is quite entertaining, we have werewolves, vampires, witches  and so much more, and I’m quite certain we´ll get to see more of them on the next books.
I would certainly recommend this book and I’ll be looking for the next book on the series.
I´m rating it a three stars just because it has some edition problems but if they were none, it would have easily got into my five star list.

                   Richelle Mead´s Vampire Academy

On June 29th 2010 it was announced that Preger Entertainment had acquired the film rights to Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series. The movie is still a very big maybe but with Don Murphy (Transformers) on board as producer things are definitely looking good. Both Preger and Murphy seem very dedicated to the movie and acknowledge the great anticipation of the fanbase.

“The joy of these books is that in the wake of ‘Twilight’ they offer a chance to create a movie franchise that guys will want to see as well as girls,” he said. “Michael and I plan on positioning the films as something both sexes will enjoy together, expanding the genre of sexy young vampires to a whole new audience. We are beginning discussions with studios immediately.”
Preger also stated that “It was the fan base that made all this happen in my opinion. That’s why we want to stay in touch with that force. Not just on opening weekend, but through the whole process of making this movie. This is their movie after all.”

Reno´s Chance by Lora Leigh

first time for me, i didn`t fell in love with one of L.L. books, the plot was good, but too short i didn`t have a chance to connect with the characters, nor to glimpse his work nor her struggle, it was ok, but it could have been so much better

Awakened by P.C. and Kristin Cast

This book in one word is: awful, horrible, vile, disgusting... guess that`s more than one word.

it`s very boring, this series wasn`t so bad, the first books where quite all right, I actually liked them a lot but now, there as bad as it can gets, it feels that they´re just streching a story that should have finished several books ago.

I just keep reading this series cause I can`t stand to leave a series unfinished

Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian

So this were my first thought on this series, but being completely honest, thisseies picked up and is now actually one of my favs.

Ok so I finished the firts book on this series a while ago and let me tell you it´s not what i thought, the truth is that the cover and the reviews of the book were interesting and the story is very very very similar to one that floods the network with fans and fan clubs; so i said to myself "you have to reas this book"

"WRONG!!!!!" this book is not bad but it´s almost a copy of J.R.Ward books and definitely leaves much to be desired. Prbably if i had read this before Black Dagger Brotherhood i would have liked it more, but after reading that work of art (there is no other way to describe BDB) well...

Thank God i´m the kinda girl that finishes a book series even thou the first book wasn´t appealing, cause let me tell you, thiswas worth every damm second I invested

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Fisrt of all i want to clarify that this review was made before i could put my hands oh Battle Royale so here is what i thought of this book the first time around:

"wow!!! it was great, i was glued to it from de start, so naturally i ate the book up in one day, lol!!!
great story, lots of shocking moments, and very dramatic, sensitive, tears will definetively fall moments.

the characters are great, and even thou some you only see for a few pages, they remain with you the entire book cause there really lovable or endering in some way"

i can´t honestly say that i don´t like this books anymore, that would be lying on my part, but i can certanly say that in comparison BR is so much better but The Hunger Games have a unique point of view of almost the same event, plus i did like the romance among all the bloodshed...

Vampires Rule Review

So i got to this book on a R2R...

The premise of the book is really great but one you start reading well, it´s not that the story is bad, not at all, actually it was ok it could have been a lot better but i came across some time line error that got me completly out of the story.

Jack is a 17 years old boy that was turned into a vampire after a were killed his parents, and he lived a vampire life for 10 years "mostly feeding on animal blood" i´m not kidding he actually said that while making a point that he wasn´t a killer, so mostly he didn´t drink for humans wich means a) he drink a bit and let the human turn into a vampire or b) he kills them, so he wasn´t mostly a killer YEAH RIGHT!!!!

then we have Silver Reign (very original name for a Were Hunter) a.k.a Starr wich i guess was the name the author intended to use at first but then changed her mind (how do i know?, well silver is refered as starr during the book), anyway she longs to have a normal life and be a lawyer but she is trapped by destiny and family tradition.

Jack´s baby brother Billy 25 years old, is a were hunter trained by reign´s family, and his story goes like this. i wanna kill the were that killed my family, i wanna kill my vamp brother, i wanna kill the were that killed my family, i wanna kill my former vamp brother, wow im lame, but hey! lets kill the were that killed my family(that about sums it up).

The reign family are really cool, hidden weapons cabbinet and all...

and we have Jersey a.k.a THE BAD GUY, he´s the best character in the book, he has ups and downs and he´s a sucker for classic authors, and he likes jack but he knows he´ll have to fight him to death in the end.

the plot is ok, there are many characters introduced at first, that makes u feel they´ll have some big part in the plot but then they just vanish, the book it´s good at least it managed to make me curious about the second book, so i´ll look for it, but it wasn´t a mind blowing thing.

that being said it has a lot of potencial and i liked the tone things ended.

on a better note the idea of a former vampire that comes to life again, to kill a were that´s going to bring the end of the world an can summon wraiths is kinda cool, and he has to do all that with his were hunter girlfriend her were hunter parents and his lame 25 year old baby brother on toe, plus he totally likes the bad guy.

so i will check out the next book just cause i´m curious to where all this is going...

Blood Warrior by H.D. Gordon

First of all i was traped by Alexa and her strange home from the start her mother rules and strange behaviour, traps you in the same "what´s the hell is going on" that Alexa is feeling and you can´t keep but feel sorry for the girl and at the same time intrigued by it.

Her sister Nelly is adorable and at the same time i keep thinking there´s some thing more to her that i can´t put quite my finger on.

and please don´t make me start with Wolf boy, i mean i want one of those, he´s like the best friend anyone should have, you know the sexy, always there for you and will take care of you and yours till my last bearth kind of friend.

the story is extremly intoxicating you get trapped in Alexas inner turnmoil in every page turn, also when KAYDEN appears oh my!!! well that would be rambling on my part but OH MY!!! i want a piece of that!!! lol.

anyway i loved this book and i even felt dissapointed that it ended i wanted so much more i still do, and will be waiting for the next one that I hope will come out soon enough.

So if you loved VA this is something you should really consider reading.

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

It isn´t a bad book actually it`s quite entertaining, but you can´t separate Bloodlines from Vampire Academy, I spend the whole book with the feeling that at some point Rose would appear to save everyone. The story is interesting and completely different from VA.

Thank God we are very very very far away from Lisa that we no longer continue to endure her problems, Jill is very tender but she is a baby and the weight of the history is fully upon Sydney and Adrian which I think is perfect.

so all and all it wans´t bad but it wasn´t what i expected

Five (Elemental Enmity) by Christie Rich

Five it´s a really good book with a fresh plot and the characters are everything but flat and boring; since the first page your inmerse in action, the doubts and fears Rayla has during her ride to St. Mary´s sucks you up in the story, also Cassie her best friend and her reticence to speak with Rayla about anything supernatural leaves you with a foul taste on your mouth.

The story behing Kayla her powers and her destiny is a jorney that i was bound to love; the male characters are strong ones on their own, Zach and Luke bring a diferent quality to the clasic dominant male, there both strong but caring and protective of her, and both got under Kayla´s and my skin pretty fast; Taylor also has a good Quality to him wich we don`t get to explore to much cause his focus changes during de book, Jett is the only Lord that is as likable as a frog covered with warts, he`s Dominant and couldn´t care less for Raylas fellings even if he tried, and then there´s Finn, he`s cute and charming in his own way, he´s the kind of guy that fight´s for his dreams despite orders, destiny and my guess is even dead.

This book has a very very quick flow to it, that at times feels rush, and leaves an enormous amount of questions in the end, but as i´m sure this book will become a first in a very good, intriguing and amazing series, that really is not a big deal.

It got me so riled up that i flew throw it in one day, i got trapped in a world of fae, Trolls and Black winged horses; hopes, desires and secrets, and so much more.

I´m sure this will end up being a truly great story of self awareness, pasion and love and I really Hope to hear from this Author soon enough.

Battle Royale by Koushun Takami

To be honest i did really love "The Hunger Games" but if i had read this one before hand, i dont think i would have love it as much, Suzanne Collins wrote a good book, but its a kids play in comparison to this; this is THE book, its great it turns you upside and down with the turn of the page, the story it´s filled with adrenaline and i have to admit i shed a tear or two, with some of the kids.

it has very unexpected moments and things that made my skin crawl, but i coudn´t put it down, it´s one of my favs as of now.

its definetively a TO READ book if you haven´t already
