Synopsis

Madison Daniels has worshipped her brother's best friend since they were kids. Everyone thinks she and Chase Gamble would make the perfect couple, but there are two major flaws in their logic. 1) Chase has sworn off relationships of any kind, and 2) after blurring the line between friends and lovers for one night four years ago, they can't stop bickering.

Forced together for her brother's wedding getaway, Chase and Madison decide to call a truce for the happy couple. Except all bets are off when they're forced to shack up in a tacky 70’s honeymoon suite and survive a multitude of "accidents" as the family tries to prove their "spark" can be used than for more than fighting. That is, if they don't strangle each other first…

My Review

Holly Tamale this book was just hot; I can’t believe I read it in one sitting.
Maddie is a sweet pocket size woman that is madly head over heels in love with her brother best friend, the utterly sexy and dam right gorgeous Chase Gamble.
Wow this book had my toes curling from beginning to end if that wasn´t chemistry I don’t know what else to call it. Chase just ooze sexual competence and is alluring as hell. I even bit my lip at time or two, this book was THAT good.
I need to confess that I read the wine cellar scene twice, just for the pleasure of it, that was so Hot that I think I’m going to read it again when I get home.
The only regret I have about this book is that it ended I so wanted to keep reading as Maggie and swoon worthy Chase did their business and hobba hobba .
Please J. Lynn Please tell me you are planning on doing one book for each Gamble brother cause OMG they are just prime Quality and fantasy material LOL…
Errrr *Fans herself* as I was saying in the most professional way *snickers* is that if you want to read something HOT you guys need to read this; WARNING this book is for adults only so there.
Can’t wait to read more from J. Lynn this was just AMAZING!!!

When the people important to her are thrown into danger and she is forced to choose who to save, what will Mercy do? When the demon within her has its own agenda, going to new lengths to fulfill it, how will she cope? And when a new nemesis arrives, with a sole focus to take what belongs to her, how will she survive?

Some situations make you stronger, some make you weak. She used to run from confrontation but the need to uncover secrets will harden her resolve to make new choices.

In the end, someone else will suffer the consequences. Who will be burned by her very existence? And what will become of everything she holds dear?

Mercy’s life wasn’t easy before and things aren’t getting easier now.

My Review

A while back I reviewed a book written by Shannon Dermot here is the link to that review
all I can say is that I loved Beg for Mercy and I was dying to see what happened next and OMG was I in for a HUGE surprise.
Waiting for Mercy had me thinking from page one I was all “what the hell is going on” first we have the all lovable and adorable Flynn this guy has attitude and style, he is a chick magnet and loves it but inside is insecure. My guess is that he feels lonely being an Incubus he can have every girl he wants, but can he ever find a girl that truly loves him and is not attracted to him just for his unnatural sex appeal?
He´s in love with Mercy but she´s his Best friend girlfriend and to top it all she also is his stepsister. What is a guy to do about that?
Then we have Luke he´s a charmer a chivalrous, good natured guy that loves Mercy above all and is willing to risk everything to be with her, but is he as good as he seems or there’s something else hiding behind those angelic eyes?
Sebastian is a full breed demon that has his sight on Mercy as well, he´s another chick magnet and very dark in nature but at the same time he´s the only one that is actually truthful to her and  is willing to do what it takes to keep her safe.
I could go on and on about the guys on Mercy´s life we still have Paul and Tom the first her long time human best friend, who has been in love with her for years, the second is a huge enigma that I guess is going to have a huge impact on the way this series is going to develop.
Mercy´s life is crashing down and there´s no way for her to make it right her Succubus side is getting stronger and harder to control and at times it seems that the universe conspires against her.
I love this book I can´t say it was perfect I did find some punctuation problems but OMG by the end of the book I was sweating and crying going all “NO, NO, NO” the first part of the book is all about Mercy´s growth  her inner struggles and emotions but at some point  the book becomes a supernatural action packed full on war.
The ending is amazing and had me clicking my kindle like crazy because I was sure Shannon couldn’t do that to me lol!!! There had to be another chapter somewhere lol!!
Anyway if you read Beg for Mercy and Love it you are gonna adore Waiting for Mercy; if not what are you waiting for, go get them lol!!!
I rate this book 5 stars cause aside from the little problems that I found I’m just dying to keep reading and I was so into the story that at some point I didn’t even notice the punctuation problems anymore lol!!!!

Hope you guys enjoy, I know that I did.

When Kate Evangelista was told she had a knack for writing stories, she did the next best thing: entered medical school. After realizing she wasn't going to be the next Doogie Howser, M.D., Kate wandered into the Literature department of her university and never looked back. Today, she is in possession of a piece of paper that says to the world she owns a Literature degree. To make matters worse, she took Master's courses in creative writing. In the end, she realized to be a writer, none of what she had mattered. What really mattered? Writing. Plain and simple, honest to God, sitting in front of her computer, writing. Today, she has four completed Young Adult novels.

Love stories. I love reading them. I love writing them. Life is a series of relationships that we have with people, and a love-relationship is one of the most fascinating because it runs a gamut of emotions. If one cannot find love, be it love of self, love for another, love for life, then what are we here for?

Excerpt Reveal

I sat up and followed Calixta’s gaze upward. I rubbed my eyes. I didn’t know what I was seeing at first. A statue? My brain refused to snap together coherent thoughts.  I didn’t realize I’d fallen so close to one of the garden benches until I stared up at the boy that sat on one. He was strikingly beautiful. His tumble of blonde hair curled just above his sculpted cheekbones. He wore a silk shirt and a loosened cravat, like he’d become bored while dressing and decided to leave himself in disarray. His ivory skin and frozen position was what had me mistaking him for something carved from marble by Michelangelo. Then he sighed—a lonely, breathy proof of life. If I had to imagine what Lucifer looked like before he fell from heaven, the boy on the bench would certainly fulfill that image. My brain told me I had to look away, but I couldn’t.
“Luka,” Calixta said again, her voice unsure, almost nervous. It no longer contained the steel and bite she had threatened me with, which made me wonder who the boy was.
He leaned on his hands and crossed his legs, all the while keeping his eyes fixed on the night sky. His movements spoke of elegance and control. I’d encountered many people with breeding before, but his took on the air of arrogance and self-assuredness of someone used to getting what he wanted when he wanted it.
I only realized I’d been holding my breath when my lungs protested. I exhaled. My heart sputtered and restarted with a vengeance. Luka tore his gaze away from the stars and settled it on me. I’d expected pitch-black irises, like the other Night Students, but blue ice stared back at me.
“Human,” he whispered.
He reached out, and with a finger, followed an invisible trail down my cheek. I stiffened. His touch, cooler than Demitri’s, caused warm sparks to blossom on my face. He lifted his finger to his lips and licked its tip. He might as well have licked me from the way my body shivered.
Luka’s curious gaze held mine. “Leave us,” he said, but not to me.
“But—” Calixta protested like a spoiled child.
He spoke in a language I hadn’t heard before, remaining calm yet firm. The words had a rolling cadence I couldn’t quite follow, like rumbling thunder in the distance. They contained a harsh sensuality. The consonants were hard and the vowels were long and lilting.
Footsteps retreated behind me.
Luka reached out again.
It took me a minute to realize he wanted to help me up. I hesitated. He smiled. I smiled back timidly and took his hand, completely dazzled. Even with my uniform soaked from melted snow, I didn’t feel cold—all my attention was on him and the way his callused hand felt on mine. Without moving much from his seated position, he helped me stand.
“What’s your name?” he asked. He had a voice like a familiar lullaby. It filled my heart to the brim with comfort.
I swallowed and tried to stop gawking. “Phoenix.”
“The bird that rose from the ashes.” Luka bent his head and kissed the back of my hand. “It’s a pleasure meeting you.”
My cheeks warmed. My head reeled, not knowing what to think. I couldn’t understand why I felt drawn to him. And the strange connection frightened me.
From behind, someone gripped my arms and yanked me away before I could sort out the feelings Luka inspired in me. I found myself behind a towering figure yet again. Recognizing the blue-black silk for hair tied at the nape, relief washed over me. Calixta hadn’t come back to finish me off.
Demitri’s large hand wrapped around my wrist. Unlike the night before, no calm existed in his demeanor. He trembled like a junky in need of a fix. The coiled power in his tense muscles vibrated into me.
“What are you doing here?” Demitri asked.
I didn’t know he’d spoken to me until I saw his expressionless profile. I sighed.
Phoenix.”
I flinched. The ruthless way he said my name punched all the air out of me. “You owe me answers,” I said with as much bravado as I could muster.
“I owe you nothing.” He glared. “In fact, you owe me your life.”
“I don’t think so.”
Ignoring my indignation, he faced Luka, who’d remained seated on the bench during my exchange with Demitri. “Why is she with you, Luka?”
“I wasn’t going to taste her, if that’s what you’re implying,” Luka said. “Although, she is simply delicious. I wouldn’t mind if you left us alone.”
There it was again. Taste. The word that kept coming up between these Night Students and I was connected to it in an increasingly uncomfortable way. To taste meant to sample, but what? My flesh? They had to be joking because the alternative wasn’t funny.
“The sins of the father …” Demitri left his sentence unfinished.
Luka’s smile shifted into a snarl. “Obey my command.” His chin lifted. “Kneel.”
Demitri’s stance went rigid. His grip tightened around my wrist.
Okay, weird just got weirder. Why would Luka want Demitri to kneel before him? I thought back to Eli and the others bowing to Demitri when he questioned them, but they didn’t kneel. Seriously? Were they all living on a different planet or something?
Kneel.” Luka’s detestable smirk made his features sinister rather than angelic. The real Lucifer: a fallen angel.
Without letting go of my wrist, Demitri knelt down on one knee and bowed his head, his free hand flat at the center of his chest. “Your command has been obeyed,” he said formally.
Luka nodded once.
Demitri stood up and pulled me toward the school without telling me where we were going. Not having the time to thank Luka for saving me from Calixta, I risked a glance back. Luka smiled at me. His smile spoke of whispers, secrets, and promises to be shared on a later date.

Book Synopsis

When one human stands before an army of impossible obstacles, the likelihood of overcoming them in this coming-of-age modern fairytale may result in war between light and darkness.

Abandoned as an infant in Prague, naive and strong-willed Charlotte Ruzikova was raised by one of the last Vampires left alive. As a human, she knows no other home than the one nestled deep in the woods of Eastern Europe, where Witches drew spells of enchantment, Phasers threw tea parties, and Elves are the closest in kin. Resident medical doctor and Vampire, Valek Ruzik fears the day his ward would come of age and blossom into a fine woman, and he is forced to confront his own motives as time is of the essence once his past catches up to him, and their lives become endangered...

As genocide and war threatens their secret society, the dictator in power is ready to wipe out Valek's race, but Charlotte will not allow that to happen. Fighting for the only one she's ever loved and truly believed in, she will do whatever it takes to save their love...before the sun comes up and light takes over.

My Review

Over the years there´s been quite a change in the way Vampires are viewed, from the blood thirsty undead, aristocrat sexy killer, Aliens, to the glittery vegetarian type. Vampires have been around for a very long time.
Although the myth started somewhere around the 18th century (I think) and was mostly about men coming out of their grave to feed on the blood of his loved ones, now we face a more sappy description of them.
I have to say that in between is a great place for me, I don’t really like the cruel, evil, bloodsucking, crazed, ugly psycho-vampirenor the sparkly type.
See below for clarification LOL!!!!

Yeah i like my Vampires true to their nature but sexy as hell, hey im still a girl!!!! LMAO
anyway, why did I started this subject?, quite easy actually, cause I found a book that gave me exactly that a cross between Anne Rice and J.R.Ward (without the adult content of course) and I loved every minute of it.
Valek is a Vampire, a real Vampire, the suck your blood until you die, the sun can kill me kinda Vampire. It´s so refreshing to read a Ya book that actually embraced the old dark nature but still manage to capture the romantic and sensual aspect as well.
Charlotte is a human girl, a very naive but strong willed human girl, who was rescued as an infant by Valek and was raised by him in an occult city,(where the supernatural creatures live) she knows what he is and accepts him as such, she even hunts for him bringing people to his door so he can feed. She lives surrounded by supernatural creatures, elves, witches, animated ragdolls; you name it this book has it.
The plot is amazing, fast passed and with twist and turns that leave you glued to the pages, it has action, romance, and angst, has very funny moments too.
Shayne Leighton is very descriptive and manages quite easily to take you in a full out journey through Prague, I swear I could see the city and smell the forest.  I don’t even know how long it took me to read the book all I know is that I did it on one sitting; it´s fantastic, enthralling  and complex too, and please don’t get me started on the villains, OMG that was magnificent. .. (wish I could say more but you know how much I hate spoilers LOL)
Anyway I am quite a fan of Vampire Novels; if it has a Vampire in it most likely I already read it or is on my TBR list; I was growing tired of the more romantic version of the Vamps I love, but this book is amazing, I was delighted with Valek and Lottie and the changes their relationship was going through and appalled by everything that happens to them.
The only thing I wasn´t completely in love with, is the fact that the characters weren’t as developed as they should, but this is Shayne´s Leighton Debut Novel and for a first book is just simply awesome, in fact is so good that is being made a movie.

and here is the Promo Video
(This isn´t part of the movie)

Dark Matter by Christie Rich

Rayla Tate’s dreams for the future shattered when she discovered she was an Elemental capable of manipulating matter. Thrust, once again, into the magical fae realm of Faeresia, she has an important choice to make. But now that she has Heath to contend with, deciding between Zach and Luke is the least of her concerns. Tall, dark and lethal to her will, her attraction to Heath eclipses all she has experienced with any other lord, but he is using compulsion to wear her down. If only she could trust her feelings?

In a desperate attempt to escape Heath, she accepts the help of a little troll and finally gets what she wants; however, her relief is short lived. Things go terribly wrong when a dark force closes in on her, threatening to steal her burgeoning power before she even has a chance to test her abilities. Now, with Rayla as their captive, the Order will stop at nothing to create a male Elemental, and willing or not, Rayla is the key.

Caught up in the age-old battle for dominance between human and fae, only one question matters to her now—will she be able to save those she loves most without losing herself in the process? Or will she be forever haunted by the choices she alone can make?
