Sentinel by Jennifer L. Armentrout Blog Tour/Giveaway

All Godly things must come to an end and in this case, I´m talking about the covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

Sentinel The Final book on this series Is just around the corner (Nov 2nd) and I´m dying to know how it all ends. At the same time I feel sad, I´ve invested a long time and emotion on this series and seeing it come to an ends it´s hard. lets call this a bitter sweet moment.

This series has made me laugh, cringe and cry, I´ve drooled over, loved and hated some of the characters, and as a truly book lover I can say that this is what makes a book or a series stand out. When you get so immersed in the story that you feel that what is happening happens to you and affects you on an emotional level.

That's why today I´m going to take you guys on a journey through the book that was a deal breaker for me. It´s not my favorite book on the series but is the one that made fall for one of the characters and changed my previous views of others.

so today on my blog we are going to go over...

Aiden St. Delphi will do anything to save Alex.
Even if it means doing the one thing he will never forgive himself for.
Even if it means making war against the gods.

Elixir is a small Novella (74 pages long) but it is every bit as intense as all the book in this series. It changed my views. Being 100% honest up to this book I wasn´t Team Aiden, I was a sucker for Seth, troubled bad boy Seth had my heart and I always said I liked him better that he was a good guy and I was sure that he was the right choice for Alex.

Then... I read Elixir.

From that point forward Seth became the focus of my anger and disappointment, he wasn't even close to the man I thought he was. Aiden became the glue that held everything together and suddenly I understood why.

He balance Alex, he is her perfect opposite and is willing to sacrifice everything and more to see her happy, to see her safe. He hurts, he cries and fights with nails and teeth to be a man of honor, he makes Alex a better person, she makes him a better person.

So, as part of my post I´m going to show you my favorite Quotes from Elixir. here we go...

I moved so fast I Startled her. My hands shot through the bars, clasping the sides of her face. My forehead pressed against the cold bars and my lips were on hers. The kiss was hard and fast. Angry. Desperate. She went still unsure of how to respond. "Because I love you, I won´t release you"

This scenes where the hardest for me seeing the pain it caused Aiden to have her in a cell but having to keep her there for her own safety. How her words made the deepest wounds and see him struggle to contain himself.

"You don´t know shit. You sure as hell don't know the lengths I will go to keep her safe" I dropped him and he slumped against the wall. "and if that means killing one half-blood to make sure nothing happens to her, I won´t hesitate."

Protectiveness and desperation. My heart broke a little every time he had to turn his back on his friends for her, always for her. what he went through in this book was a nightmare but only he was strong enough to pull through.

Pain Sliced through my chest. "My name is Aiden..." I choked as the back of my throat burned. wetness gathered in my eyes, clouding Alex´s face. The words burst out of me "My name is Aiden, and I am your master" "You will obey my every wish, desire and command to death"

One of the things I admired the most about Aiden was his strength, cause although causing Alex any kind of harm is against his nature and his love for her, if it needs to be done in order to help her he´s willing to crush his soul and rip his heart out.

I stood before them. "The only way for Alex to break the connection is for her to do so herself. No one - no god, no magic- can do it. She has to. And I believe she can if the chance"

Aiden´s trust in Alex opened my eyes to what he is really about. His will to fight for her even against herself, his unconditional love and  his hope that , their love is strong enough to conquer even the impossible, showed me his true  colors and opened my eyes to the true nature of Seth.

For JLA
After writing the series from Alex’s POV, what challenges did you face writing from Aiden’s POV in Elixir?
It was hard to get into Aiden’s head because he was more of a challenge to write than I anticipated.

For Alex
Um…seriously girl, if I ever hear “My Seth” again, I may puke.  Is there anything about that time that you want to remember?
No.  Well, except Aiden because he believed in me.

For Aiden
Where does your strength come from? Standing up to Alex and even the Gods, you were a rock during Elixir.  How did you do it?
It was all for Alex.  I love her and I wasn’t giving up.

For Seth
During the time where you didn’t know where Alex was, what were you doing to find her?
Everything.  I was gonna find her.

Can the Earl of Kelthorne and a mere songstress from an acting troupe
find lasting love in the wilds of Somerset?

You guys need to read Wicked and Wonderful by Valerie King to find out!!!

Her heart may long for more…
Judith Lovington escaped a vile man years ago and found sanctuary in a traveling troupe of actors. Fending off the unwanted attentions of rakish gentlemen has become second nature to her. How will she withstand his heated kisses when he represents all that she lost so many years ago and all that she desires now?

But his wicked intentions drive her into his arms…
Kelthorne meant only to have a little fun when he first caught and kissed Judith in his apple orchard. Though intent on mending his ways and marrying a proper young miss, he can’t forget the lovely songstress and sets out to break down her every reserve. As he takes his stolen kisses, however, his clever seductions begin working on his own heart. Will he surrender to love at long last?

Here is an amazing excerpt from chapter one

“Foolish, foolish dare!”
Judith Lovington raced through the orchard, stolen apples caught in her thick wool scarf. At the far end of the orchard, a man on horseback rode parallel to her position.
She had erred wretchedly and knew quite well that if she could see him, even though only leaf-shaped bits of moonlight were scattered on the ground, then he could most certainly see her. What rotten luck that this man had chosen to ride his horse at so late an hour, and at that in an orchard.
She watched his head rise. She stood very still hoping that perhaps the dark, boy’s clothing she was wearing, borrowed from the troupe’s vast store of costumes, would make her but a shadow in the orchard. Her heart pounded as she waited. Suddenly, he spurred his horse in her direction. He had seen her.
She groaned, pushed her hat down hard about her ears, turned around abruptly and began to run. All the while, stolen apples dropped to the ground in dull thuds from the shawl clutched to her chest. How could she have allowed herself to be persuaded to enter the Earl of Kelthorne’s orchard in the first place.
She stumbled more than once but managed to right herself and keep running.
From behind, the man yelled after her, none too politely. “Stay a moment, young halfling. A word with you, and then my riding crop, for I promise you I mean to beat you within an inch of your life. At the very least twill mean the stocks for you and I will only now be made content by throwing half a dozen cabbages at your head.”
The man, whose diction bespoke the gentleman, was clearly outraged by her crime. Stealing was a terrible crime and often punished by the severest methods. She should never have allowed Charles Hemyock to provoke her to the deed. From his first joining the troupe nearly a year past, he had barely had a civil word for her. He was arrogant and cruel, and she did not like him above half. But when he had called her a worthless female with little wit and no bottom at all, just like all the other females of the dramatic troupe, she felt obligated to vindicate not just herself, but her sex as well.
So he had dared her to collect a dozen apples from Kelthorne’s orchard and she had accepted his challenge. Although she now thought he may have been right about her lack of wit, certainly her lack of sense, for here she was, being chased by a man intent on doing her serious injury and in some danger of being brought before a magistrate. Visions of dangling from Tyburn Tree pressed her to move faster still.
She glanced back again. He would be on her in a trice for she could hardly outrun his horse. Still, she ran, slipping through the orchard sideways, moving from row to row of thickly-leafed trees in hopes of forcing him from his horse. She might then have a chance to escape, for the nearby hill was thick with growth and she knew how to hide. She had at the very least some practice in that skill.
As she neared the edge of the orchard, she glanced again and saw that she had made some progress. He was having difficulty, just as she had hoped, navigating his horse after her. She felt a sudden rush of exhilaration believing she now had a chance to escape when she heard a terrible sound, the deep bark of a large dog, not too far distant.
If the hound caught her, she would be in the basket, indeed.
Glancing once more over her shoulder, she saw moonlight glint off the dusky coat of a bounding dog heading in her direction. Her heart sank as fear engulfed her chest. She ran faster still. She dropped the rest of the apples as well as her shawl. She raced for the woods. She did not know how she might escape now, but she meant to make every effort.
She held to the last vestige of hope until she heard the wheezing of the dog behind her and suddenly found herself shoved forward, then landing, fortunately, on a patch of grassy turf at the very edge of the orchard.
“Rufus!” the man shouted from a distance. “Desist!”
Judith found herself pressed to the ground. The big dog was standing on her back. At the same time, she covered her face with her arms fearing that she would soon feel the creature’s teeth tearing at her flesh. Her heart pounded in her chest so that the top of her head hurt. She felt dizzy and more frightened than she had in her entire life, even more than on the day she had run away from home some eight years earlier. Had death come to her at last?

I hope you enjoyed this excerpt from WICKED AND WONDERFUL!  To read the entire first chapter click HERE
First of all I need to say that I´m not a fan of Regency books, but Wicked and Wonderful was quite enjoyable, I have a lot of friends that love the genre, I had an amazing time Reading this title and would read any book from this author without a doubt.

The world building was amazing, it was easy for me to get lost on the story and picture everything that was going on with and around the characters. Watching the interaction of the Troupe gave me a sense of family and camaraderie that trapped me and made me fall in love withall of the characters.

Without a doubt this is one of the most enjoyable reads I´ve had the pleasure to do, it was so sweet and ringed so true that I had a hard time putting the book down.

Judith is an easily relatable character, you can´t help but to fall in love with her after all that she has endure.  Aubrey wasn´t as easy but at the end the man that he is, is what makes the whole story more interesting and real.

Several of the Side characters are very easy to connect to, such as Laurence and Miss Currivard, they were amazing, easily likable and fun.

The story is perfectly weaved, it has very good moments that I feel where well thought and planned, I wouldn´t change a letter from this book. I was hooked from the start.

I´m very enamored of the cadence and properness of the dialogues, even if a reader is not used to reading this genre is very easy to get lost on the romanticism and at the same time the dialogue pulls you into another world, I´m not embarrased to say that I dreamed of the Ball Season, big dresses and fine cultured gentlemen.

I liked this book very very much.

The actual rating would be 4.5 starts....mhhh maybe I need to start working on my half stars  graphic.

Hi guys, welcome to my stop on the Copper Girl Blog Tour, I gotta say that I´m absolutely thrilled to be a part of this, why?, well for starters Jennifer Allis Provost is a super girl easy to talk to and really fun plus she is amazing!!!!! hear this out.  my ARC of this book got lost in the mail, I was devastated thought I lost my chance to be a pat of the tour and everything, so I contact Jen to let her know that I couldn´t review her book cause well the book never arrived (Damm mail) but that I could do a spotlight or post an excerpt. do you guys know what Jen did????

She send me and E-ARC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn´t she amazing!!!!

ok, ok back on topic, so after my devastation and posterior fangirliness over the awesomesauce girl that is Jennifer Allis Provost, I opened my kindle and started reading and ohhh boy!!!! so yeah this is going to be a big fat fangirl review!!!!!!! LOL!!!!

Back cover matter:

Sara had always been careful.
She never spoke of magic, never associated with those suspected of handling magic, never thought of magic, and never, ever, let anyone see her mark. After all, the last thing she wanted was to end up missing, like her father and brother.
Then, a silver elf pushed his way into Sara's dream, and her life became anything but ordinary.

First I need, need, need to say that this book is amazing!!!! It´s the must fun I had in a while. I loved it cover to cover. It took me about six or seven hours to devour this book. when I sat down to start my first thought was, "I´m going to read for a couple of hours and I´ll continue tomorrow". LOL!!! yeah that never happened. I was sucked in by this baby badly and when I noticed I was done, done done!!!

Soooooo!!!!! What I loved the most about this book was that It wasn´t filled with fluff, we are given exactly what we need to understand the plot and start making conjetures, the characters are strong and even though we are trapped in the mist of everything that is going on around Sara, we aren´t sofocated with information.

The Idea that Magic exists in the world but is banned is just preposterous but so cool for book material LOL!!! and ohh the twist and turns this baby has, OMG!!!  and let me tell you if I need to go around with a set of extra underwear everytime i´m on the park, (you´ll  get this as soon as you read the book) things are going to get weird fast LOL!!!! my hubbs wont aprove for sure.

Sara lives hidden behind a desk, behind work and behind the only real friend she has, but inside her there´s enough power to do great things, she just need to find the courage to let herself loose  and get to know herself.

Micah it´s our Elf, I really thought I wasnpt going to like this part of the story cause well lets face it after watching Lord of the Rings, Legolas kinda killed my love for elves LOl!!! But thank god for Micah, I loved, loved, loved him. He is completly submerged in magic, he breathes magic and doesn´t know any other way.

The pairing was amazingly funny, being so different and all, bu it worked wonderfully, the world the autthor created is one of a kind, I´ve never read anything like it, heck I wanted to live there and im not talking about the real world nononono!!!! you guys need to read this book, like reallueally need to get this book.

I´m even thinking of getting a tatt, that rave  would look pretty awesome in my back LOL!!!!

CHAPTER ONE, Part I

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

My office, like most modern offices, cranked the air conditioning down to Arctic proportions during the summer months. Consequently, we workers arrived in the morning dressed in sandals and sleeveless tops, donned heavy sweaters upon reaching our desks, and ended up shivering by noon. Ironically, when our workday ended we were hit by a wall of oppressive heat the moment we stepped outside the main doors. No, this wasn’t a flawed system in the slightest.

That day, I wasn’t having it. I had the grand idea of spending my lunch hour outside, away from the icy wind stiffening my fingers and chilling my neck. After I unwound myself from the afghan I kept in my desk (and only used in the summer months), I gathered up my lunch and my phone and headed out for an impromptu picnic in my car.

What I hadn’t considered was that the office runs the air conditioning so cold because it was, well, hot outside. Very hot, in fact. So hot that the cheese was melting in my sandwich and the lettuce looked like something that had washed ashore months, maybe even years, ago. I was parked in the shade and had taken down my car’s convertible top, but I still couldn’t manage to get comfortable. I’d already shed my sandals and cardigan, which left me wearing my sundress and…

Dare I?

I glanced around the parking lot of Real Estate Evaluation Services, the ‘go-to firm for all your commercial real estate needs’, according to the brochures. No one, human or drone, was taking a noontime stroll, and, by virtue of my being on the far side of the lot, no cars were near mine. Most of my coworkers didn’t even have cars, so the lot was rarely more than half-full. What was more, from where I sat, I couldn’t even see the office.

I dared.

I took a deep breath and channeled my inner wild woman, then leaned the seat back and slipped off my panties. Removing that small bit of cotton made an incredible difference, and the heat became somewhat bearable. Enjoyable, even. Was that a breeze?

Ignoring my decrepit sandwich, I fully reclined the seat, set the alarm on my phone, and closed my eyes. A nap. Now that would make today bearable.

***

Suddenly, he is there.

Here.

Kissing me, holding me.

I know I'm dreaming, because he's perfect. His lips are soft but insistent, his hands gentle. I glide my fingers across his back, feeling thick cords of muscle, before sinking my fingers into his hair. It’s superfine, like cobwebs, and when I crack an eyelid, I learn that it’s silver. Not gray or white, but the elegant hue of antique candlesticks and fine flatware. Cool.

I squeeze my eyes shut again, not wanting the dream to end any sooner than it has to. He kisses me once more, and I can’t help melting against him. His hand travels up my leg, up past my hip… shit! No panties!

I try twisting away, but he already knows. I feel his mouth stretch into a smile, and he moves to nuzzle my neck. "What’s your name?" he murmurs.

"Sara," I reply. "Yours?"

"Micah." By now, his hands have traveled to my waist, and he slides one around to stroke the small of my back. "Why did you summon me, Sara?"

"I didn’t," I protest. "I don’t know how." I would say more, but he nibbles a trail from my neck to my shoulder, and pushes my dress to the side. As for me, I let him.

Micah raises his head, and I get a good look at him for the first time. His eyes are large and dark gray, like thunderheads, his features chiseled into warm caramel skin, and his unruly mop of silver hair seems to float around his head. He wears an odd, buff-colored leather shirt, made all the odder in this heat, and matching leather pants and boots. Boots?

"You did summon me," he insists. "My Sara, you must tell me why."

"Does it matter?" I ask. I pull him back to me, kissing him with all the passion I’ve never felt with anyone during my waking hours. Micah kisses me back, fingers deftly unbuttoning my dress while his other hand rubs my lower back. I’ve never felt so free, so alive as I do in Micah’s embrace, and I have no intention of rushing this. None at all.

Book Trailer

Excerpt
Chapter 1
I choked on the black fear unfurling in my soul, brought on by what would come, what always assaulted me the moment I slipped into unconsciousness. It was stupid to think I could run from it for a third night, but shreds of hope were all that had kept me sane. Primal, cold and so dark it blotted out my Light.
Sleep, more terrifying than anything I’d faced yet, claimed me again.
Standing on the balcony of the new fae castle, I gazed over winding rows of ancient shifter houses, each quiet and seemingly content in slumber, in a night that wasn’t dark. Dark and light all at once—a perfect balance, as if the world hadn’t yet decided which side would win, until the red clouds rolled and curled across the sky like blood spilled into water. Flames, intelligent and ravenous, spread from the east, ready to consume everything and everyone until nothing but ash remained. Heat licked at my skin, growing hotter. Knowing it was only a dream didn’t keep sweat from pearling along my face and neck or the blue streak of profanity from escaping to color the air. Heart thundering, I gripped the railing while I stared at the coming storm, brain frozen with the puzzle I hadn’t yet solved.
What are you trying to tell me? What am I missing?
From below, shrieks invaded my ears, thundering across the land until they rose into a deafening clatter of sound. The houses came alive with light, moaning as fae spilled into the cobblestone streets and stared skyward before scattering, each filled with agony and despair deep enough there would be no escape from it. Dying. They were dying. My own scream built in my throat, to tell them I would fix it somehow, that I would save them, but it couldn’t find an escape. Nor would my body obey my commands to move, to help them. To do something. Anything.
The scene changed as it always did. I stared down from far above, my limbs turned to torches of white fire. A globe of light around me cast a white wash over the city, over the fae who still ran in every direction.
From me.
I am the storm.
Wings pounding against the wind reached me a moment before a giant snowy owl arrived to hover before me, those golden eyes shining with rage and fear, both inducing immense relief that Liam had come and blinding horror with some distant knowledge that he should have run, too.
My scream pierced the silence as a wail let loose from his beak.
No. No!
“Wake up, Lila. Please, wake up!”
Warmth on my arm jerked me awake.
Damn near hyperventilating, I scrambled out of bed and landed on my hands and knees on the hardwood without a stitch of clothing on, unsure if the room spun or if I was just dizzy. When Liam approached, his eyes haunted and glassy, a chilled realization hit me and stalled my breath until my lungs ached with need. What if the storm hadn’t been a dream?
